Spent Fuel Systems DivisionThe SFSD is the largest of the five Holtec divisions. This division also has a proud and unblemished record of performance - not one project of over a hundred executed by this division in the past ten years has missed a major delivery milestone. The SFSD subscribes to the dictum that superb performance begets client loyalty that begets growth and success. The annual sales of this division have increased from $2 million in 1987 to over $90 million (and counting) in 1999. The SFSD has consistently won accolades for its project performance from nuclear utilities around the world.
The activities of the SFSD can be broadly divided into two discrete business sectors, namely;
Since 1986, the SFSD has built an impressive record of accomplishment in the nuclear fuel storage and transportation industry. Propelled by cutting-edge expertise in solid mechanics, heat transfer, nuclear physics, and nuclear component fabrication, and a continuous string of licensing successes with the NRC, the SFS Division has acquired a position of world leadership in wet fuel and dry multi-purpose storage technologies.One measure of this success is a practically 100% market share in wet storage. Pioneers in the introduction of the multi-purpose canister technology for spent fuel storage and transport, the Holtec International Storage,Transport, and Repository (HI-STAR) and the Holtec International Storage and Transfer Operation Reinforced Module (HI-STORM) systems, have received significant endorsement and support from several key U.S. utilities. | |
