Critical Service Heat Exchangers
PPCD is a noted provider of custom engineered tubular heat exchangers for power generation, pharmaceutical, chemical, and petrochemical plants, to render critical heat transfer funtions that involve heating, cooling, condensing and/or evaporating various process fluids.
Holtec International uses HTRI programs to design heat exchangers for specified process conditions. The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code, FLUENT, is also used in cases involving a-typical and complex flow configurations. TEMA shell configurations and ASME codes. PPCD is especially noted as supplier of axial flow shell-and-tube heat exchangers.
Plant designers prefer low pressure loss heat exchangers to reduce operating and capital costs. Axial flow shell & tube heat exchangers by Holtec International excel in minimizing the pumping head.
The heart of Holtec’s axial flow heat exchanger is the Non-Segmental Baffle pioneered by the Company in the mid 1980s.
A Holtec axial flow heat exchanger is typically designed to withstand an increase in shellside flow rate of more than 100% percent.
Axial flow heat exchangers have been used in diverse applications such as air preheating, condensing of process vapors, steam de-superheating, and refrigerant and steam condensate subcooling. They can be supplied in any of the standard shell configurations listed in the TEMA Standards and in size ranges from 6 inches to 12 feet in diameter.
All heat exchangers are designed in accordance with HEI, TEMA, and ASME Section VIII Code, as applicable.
